The Canadian Yachting Association's Youth National Sailing Championship is the premiere national regatta for Canada's top young under 19 male and female sailors. The Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron (RNSYS) will host this prestigious event, expected to attract more than 300 athletes, coaches, parents, observers and volunteers from across Canada.

The ING CYA Youth National Sailing Championship is a qualifier event for the 2009 National Youth Sailing Team and will incorporate an important two day training programme for all athletes. This event is sure to attract the best youth athletes in the country in seven exciting classes: Laser; Laser Radial; 29er; Club 420; Laser 4.7 and Byte CII.
